Wonderful Things happened this week:

1.) The ladies that I eat lunch with threw me a "surprise" Birthday Party.  SURPRISE - my Birthday is in July.  They wanted to celebrate before the end of school.  They treated me to lunch and a delicious Paula Dean Chocolate Cake.

2.) One of the ladies at work (who works at more than one school) had made a CD of summer songs for another teacher and last Friday agreed to mail me a copy.  I received it today.  It is just fun to hear songs about summer and realize there are only 6 more days of school left.  It's almost here.  YEAH!!

3.) My friend and I have been trying to plan a summer getaway for 3 days at the end of July.  She called today and said that she couldn't get off work then, but was going to be able to get away next week (after school lets out) for 4 days instead of 3.  So we are planning a fun beginning of summer, end of school trip (at least for me - since she doesn't work for a school).  The deal is that I can't wait.  It's going to be so much fun.

4.) I almost got caught up at work today.  I have three files to finish. All the rest got copied, sent home, and filed.  YEAH.  Of the three, one is finished and waiting for someone else to put the last piece together.  So, the point is, I only have two files left to finish...until tomorrow that is.  But if I can work as quickly as I did today, it won't be a problem.  And besides, as of today, next week is really light (for me) so I should be able to finish anything that doesn't get done this weekend, next week at work.  YEAH.

5.) All of the above puts me in a really good mood and I just hope it lasts because tomorrow is going to be really hectic.  Oh well, only 6 more days of school!!! (4 1/2 with kids)

WOW, I didn't realize I had been away so long...so for an update:

It's the end of the school year (that should say it all).

I am happy to say that I have been quite busy this past month, with lots of meetings, two scrapbook occasions, a monthly Bible Study, weekly walks with some ladies from work, Zumba (A Latin American Dance Aerobics Class), and also a trip home to visit my mother for Mother's Day.

Only 7 1/2 more school days with kids, 9 days total and I am so very glad.  I love this time of year because it's almost time for a needed break.  However, it means lots and lots of meetings, 12 more IEPs (Individual Education Plans) to write, 15 more meetings and various other end of the year things to do.

I do have a major praise: I had a difficult meeting scheduled for Friday and another semi-difficult meeting scheduled right after it.  After much prayer, both meetings went extreemely well.  A little paperwork cleanup is needed but no complaints about the meeting.  The parents did not get upset and all proposals were taken well and accepted by the team.  I couldn't have done it on my own.

Definately looking forward to summer though.  Don't have a lot of plans, but enough to keep me in town most of the summer.  Thinking about trying to get a part time job.  Not sure that will happen though, but it would be nice to have something to keep me busy and help me meet new people.  I'm praying about it.

Well, I've got to go finish writing this weeks IEPs...not to mention lesson plans.  I promise it won't be 32 days until I update again.
